Phytocosmetology
Phytocosmetology involves using natural plant extracts in beauty products for their efficacy.
Each natural extract contains key active ingredients that perform a specific action.
The synergy of natural extracts results in the amplification and strengthening of the effects of each individual active ingredient.
This synergy is at the heart of Sisley research.
Sisley believes that phyto-cosmetology is a know-how that brings together:
- knowledge of plants, their composition and benefits of their active molecules (or key active ingredients),
- perfect mastery of dosage for the main active ingredients to obtain the desired efficacy and guarantee perfect innocuousness,
- the use of botanical extracts with constant quality,
- total mastery of our combination of natural extracts, creating synergies and multiplying the efficacy of every key active ingredient.
The Sisley laboratories complement the formulation of some of their products with the addition of essential oils.
Essential oils are non-greasy, volatile substances, generally obtained through distillation.
Their main actions are as follows:
- Boost the effect of the active components in a formula,
- Activate cutaneous micro-circulation to encourage the elimination of toxins,
- Act like a natural preservative to reduce the amounts of artificial preservatives added to the formulas.
- Stimulate through olfactory means to complete the cutaneous action,
